Falcons Rising Dialogue on Black Lives Matters Movement

Falcons Rising and Talon Marks presented an engaging dialogue on the Black Lives Matter Movement, turning national rhetoric to campus action. Panelists discussed ways to address campus safety and policing, and the importance of individual actions to end the racism, not only making it a campus policy. Stay tuned as the campus community continues to build on the conversation about ending the systemic racism.

Meet Alumnus Jose Luis Martos

Jose Luis earned his A.A. in Machine Tool Technology with honors in 2020, while completing three machine tool certificates: Numerical Control Machine Operator, Numerical Control Tool Programmer, and Machinist. He currently works for Random Metals where he programs CNC machines, runs CNC milling machines, and designs parts. “All the hands-on training I received at Cerritos College helped me learn and understand the skills necessary to work at a machine shop. I also gained the confidence needed to showcase my knowledge to employers.” Jose Luis hopes to buy his own machine and create parts for aerospace and medical fields in the future.
