Marilu Garcia Named Employee of the Month of January 2021
The Outstanding Classified/Confidential Employee Selection Committee named Marilu
Garcia as the recipient of the Outstanding Classified/Confidential Employee of the
Month Award for January 2021.
Marilu began her career at Cerritos College in August 2019 as the Program Assistant II for the (EPP) Educational Partnerships and Programs. Marilu helps oversee and provide support to over 3,000 freshman and sophomore students in the program. Marilu was essential in pivoting to working from home. She has been innovative in her ideas about connecting with students, has communicated more frequently via text, and has had a positive and supportive attitude through it all. Marilu embodies customer service toward students and other staff/faculty.
Marilu, your dedication, commitment, and willingness to go above and beyond to meet the needs of the students and staff are exceptional. The administration, staff, and students appreciate your personal attributes and outstanding efforts.
