Campus Celebrates Freedom on Juneteenth

The College celebrated Juneteenth with a virtual tour and viewing party of a discussion of the slavery and freedom exhibition in the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture on June 18. Beginning this year, Juneteenth is a federal holiday in the United States commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African Americans. Although the campus was closed, nearly 30 participants gathered on zoom to celebrate and learn in-depth about Juneteenth which has been kept alive mostly through oral history.
