Cerritos College Named a 2021 Equity Champion for Awarding Transfer Degrees to Latinx Students

Cerritos College has been named a 2021 Equity Champion of Higher Education for its exemplary work in awarding Associate Degrees for Transfer (ADT) to Latinx students on its campus. The College will be recognized at the Champions of Higher Education Celebration event on Tuesday, November 16, 10 a.m. via zoom.

Alumnus Eric Draper Selected as a Recipient of the 2021 California Community College Distinguished Alumni Award

Alumnus Eric Draper, former White House chief photographer for President George W. Bush, was selected as a recipient of the 2021 California Community College Distinguished Alumni Award by the Community College League of California (CCLC). Eric is a graduate of Cerritos College. Lui Amador to Speak at November CSU Board Meeting

Dean of Student Equity and Success Lui Amador, Ed.D., will serve as the alumni guest speaker and share his CSU story as part of the Alumni Council report at the November CSU Board of Trustees meeting on Wednesday, November 10. Lui will be sharing his experience as a student veteran at CSULB, experience working on different CSU campuses, and how education helped get him to his current role at Cerritos College.

- Pop-up Influenza & Moderna COVID Vaccine clinics: Monday-Thursday, 1 - 3 p.m. No appointment needed. 
- COVID-19 testing: Tuesdays 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. and Thursdays 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. 
*Flu shots are free for students and $5 for employees. COVID vaccine and testing are free.

Art Gallery Window Dressings: Arctics Are Not For Everyone

Artist Heimir Björgúlfsson's Arctics Are Not For Everyone will be installed from October 24 to November 6. Three-dimensional assemblages, recalling both Surrealistic sculptures and rogue taxidermy spectacles, are set against a backdrop of seemingly hand-drawn wallpaper and gaudy pink neon signs.
