Hugh Nguyen Named Employee of the Month of November 2021

as the recipient of the Outstanding Classified/Confidential Employee of the Month
Award for November 2021.
Hugh serves as a critical part of the Human Resources team. Hugh was hired in November 2018 as an HR Tech I assigned to the Office of Diversity, Compliance, and Title IX. Hugh’s typical job responsibilities include support for all Title IX matters, coordination for the District’s Diversity and Equal Employment Opportunity Advisory Committee (DEEOAC), support of the District’s Universal Access Task Force (UATF), website and technical assistance for the department, oversight of the District’s TB compliance, and programmatic assistance.
Hugh is a team player and dedicated to his position. His commitment to the office and District was evident when he agreed to serve as the District’s COVID-19 Coordinator for Human Resources. This details of the position were not flushed out nor were the requirements, yet Hugh agreed to serve in this role without hesitation. In this temporary assignment, Hugh is a consummate professional and works one on one with employees ensuring that they are in compliance with the District’s COVID-19 protocols and assists with contract tracing. Additionally, Hugh agreed to assume oversight of the Management Employee Recruitment process. This additional responsibility required him to learn a new process at the same time that he was learning his COVID-19 responsibilities, but he did so with an eagerness to learn.
