In the 1960s-70s, Caribbean anti-colonial activists identified sex as a theme of decolonization. Tracing arguments for erotic freedom across the Atlantic world--from the Dutch islands in the Caribbean to the Cuban Revolution and the US Black Power movement--this talk proposes a new emphasis for the sexual revolution focused not in Europe or the United States, but insurgent nations of the Global South.
