Early College Program gives high school students a head start to degree and career
This fall, St. Pius X - St. Matthias Academy (PMA) in Downey will join Cerritos College’s Early College program as the first private high school to build a four-year dual enrollment pathway. The incoming freshman class at PMA will get a head start on their college coursework.

College opens free campus market Falcon’s Nest to feed hungry students
On March 1, Cerritos College celebrated the grand opening of The Falcon’s Nest, a centralized network of resources that support meeting students' basic needs. Watch the KTLA coverage (external link).

Student leaders help campus bring Metro GoPass to students through pilot program
Cerritos College officially launched its new Metro GoPass program for all students. The Associated Students of Cerritos College sponsored funding to subsidize the cost to provide students with transit passes at a steep discount of more than 90%. View the ABC7 coverage (external link)

College celebrates the Class of 2022 with in-person ceremonies after a two-year hiatus
The College celebrated its Class of 2022 on May 20 and 21 with the first in-person commencement ceremonies since 2019. Graduates from the Class of 2020 also participated after COVID-19 restrictions shuttered graduation plans during the onset of the pandemic.

Performing Arts Center to open on July 14; new cultural hub for the region
Cerritos College will celebrate the grand opening of its Performing Arts Center with speakers, band performances, and a guided facility tour on Thursday, July 14.

Students get the feel of real-world challenges with NASA on Campus
Cerritos College hosted its second NASA on Campus event from August 11-14 as part of the NASA Community College Aerospace Scholars (NCAS) program.

College celebrates historic number of degrees awarded in 2021-22
Cerritos College awarded a record-breaking 5,167 degrees and certificates in the 2021-22 academic year, making the Class of 2022 the largest graduating class in the 67-year-old campus’s history – a 10 percent increase from 2021. The College also awarded more than 1,000 Associate Degrees for Transfer (AA-T/AS-T) this year.

Cerritos College Opens Equity Center to Promote Safe and Inclusive Campus for All
Cerritos College celebrated the grand opening of its Equity Center on October 28. The Equity Center houses the P.R.I.D.E. Scholars and UndocuFalcons Scholars programs to support these vulnerable student groups throughout their educational journeys.

Voters Approve Cerritos College G.O. Bond Measure
Voters in the November 8 election approved Cerritos College’s $425 million General Obligation Bond measure, providing funding for the continuing renovation of the 67-year-old campus.
