Speech and Debate Team Wins Phi Rho Pi National Speech Championship

After more than two years of online tournaments, the Cerritos College speech and debate team returned to in-person competition at the Phi Rho Pi national championship tournament in St. Charles, MO, and came home a national speech champion. Public Affairs Scores Two Golds in 2022 CCPRO Awards

The Public Affairs team won two first-place PRO awards with the new annual report SOAR (before and after category) and the football media guide (sports program category) at the Community College Public Relations Organization (CCPRO) Conference on April 7. The PRO Awards celebrate the innovative and outstanding work done during the past year. The team also won second place with the convocation video "secret sauce" (promo video category), and third place with the new College logo (before and after category). Congratulations!

ASCC Presents Inaugural State of Students 

ASCC hosted its first State of Students address on April 14. Current student leaders shared key accomplishments and resolutions passed during their term, including the plastic-free campus policy and the resolution to increase the Student Activities Fee to support Metro GoPass for all students. The newly elected student leaders for the upcoming academic year were also introduced.
