Retiree Bryan Leighliter Recognized
The Cerritos College Board of Trustees recognized retiree Bryan Leighliter, lead groundskeeper,
for his many years of service to the College on July 19.
Bryan started at Cerritos College as a student worker while he was on the College's track and field team 45 years ago. Then the engineering major became an hourly worker for two years. Following that, Bryan gained full-time employment as a groundskeeper, and has been a great asset to the campus as lead groundskeeper for many years.
Bryan brought a lot of joy not only to the grounds and the facilities team, but to the campus and students. He greeted students and visitors with a big smile, and always stopped and helped out when he saw students looking lost. Bryan served as club advisor for many clubs including a fraternity once it was on campus.
When he is not on the Cerritos College grounds, he is coaching track and field – this year marks his 31st year coaching at Gahr High School.
Thank you for your service and best wishes in your retirement!
