Erik Duane honored by OC Supervisors for his efforts to connect veterans during COVID-19

Erik Duane and Andrew Do, Esq.Senior Technical Support Specialist Erik Duane was recognized by the Orange County Board of Supervisors for his efforts to connect veterans during COVID-19 on November 7.

Erik honorably and faithfully served in the U.S. Marine Corps and Marine Corps Reserves from 1990 to 2020 and deployed numerous times to war zones in southwest Asia, Somalia, and Iraq. In 2018, Erik was appointed to the Orange County Veterans Advisory Council and served as the Chair for the majority of the COVID-19 pandemic. In the summer of 2020, Erik created “Coffee Talk with Veterans,” monthly virtual sessions to help veterans cope with isolation, PTSD, and other mental health issues.

“Erik’s efforts in bringing some normalcy to our beloved veterans during the height of the pandemic are a testament to his commitment to his community,” said Andrew Do, ESQ., vice chairman of the First District Orange County Board of Supervisors.

To this date, Erik maintains membership in the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Student Veterans of America, Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, the Marine Corps Association, and Disabled American Veterans.
