Commercial Music Professor Andrew Maz to debut new album at free concert

WHAT: The Cerritos College Commercial Music Program will present a live concert celebrating the release of an album by its faculty on Saturday, February 10.

The concert, featuring a new album, Winter, by Dr. Andrew Maz, commercial music professor and chairperson, will be a collaborative performance showcasing students from the Cerritos College music, dance, film, and theatre departments. Opening acts will include two student bands: Garbage Days from Norwalk High School and the Wanderers, featuring current Cerritos College commercial music students.

All aspects of the event – staging, lighting, sound, filming, and performance will be produced by alumni and students in the college’s portable entertainment technology program, which trains entry-level stage technicians to work on portable entertainment events, providing a real-world live music production experience.

The event is free and open to all ages. Winter will be available for purchase; all proceeds will go toward establishing the Commercial Music Scholarships for Cerritos College students.
