Presented by Human Resources, the 2024 Hispanic Heritage Month luncheon on September
17 featured guest presenters from the Museum of Latin American Art.
President Jose Fierro welcomed the attendees and emphasized the significant contributions of Latin scientists and artists to society and the importance of recognizing these contributions during Hispanic Heritage Month.
The Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA) team highlighted its mission to celebrate Latinx heritage through art and emphasized the importance of inclusivity, equity, and empathy in its educational programs. The presentation featured three artists: Betsabee Romero, Lucia Monge, and Dora Bartilotti. Romero's work explores human migration using unconventional materials like monster truck tires. Monge's art focuses on interspecies relationships and sustainability, often involving plants. Bartilotti addresses gender violence through interactive installations.
The session was designed to engage the audience with a fun and interactive activity. The Culinary Arts Department prepared a lunch featuring Latin American cuisine.
