Cerritos College’s work advocating for women’s representation in construction was featured in an article published today on EdSource, a nonprofit news site covering equity in education. The article spotlights Cindy Crisanto, an apprentice at Cerritos College who is receiving assistance with childcare expenses through the Equal Representation in Construction Apprenticeship (ERICA) Grant and quotes Dean of Continuing Education Graciela Vasquez, who manages the apprenticeship program and the funding.

Trustee Marisa Perez announces departure from the Board

Trustee Marisa Perez will complete her 12-year term in December 2024. She did not seek reelection in the November elections. Marisa was first elected to the Cerritos College Board of Trustees in November 2012 and won re-election in 2016 and 2020. Accounting Instructor Charles Osaki among top 100 accountants in L.A.

Accounting instructor Charles Osaki was honored as one of L.A.’s top 100 accountants by the Los Angeles Business Journal on November 7. The annual awards recognize the top accounting professionals in the Los Angeles region for their ongoing efforts as outstanding financial stewards. Charles is a CPA with 40 years of experience and has taught accounting at Cerritos College since 2019. He is active in the California Society of CPAs (CalCPA), having held various positions, including chair of the Accounting Education State Committee and president of the Board of Trustees, Council, and Nominations Committee during his 23-year membership.

President's Holiday Reception

President's Holiday Reception December 4

Free Santa's Village coming to Cerritos College on December 7

Santa is coming back to Cerritos College on December 7! Everyone is invited to Santa’s Village at Cerritos College, featuring free photos with Santa Claus and Franco Falcon. Friends and families of all ages can participate and enjoy activities, including face painting, arts and crafts, games, the Taco Bite food truck, and sweet treats. Donate love, donate education: Plaza Comunitaria holiday fundraiser

Continuing Education’s Plaza Comunitaria, a Spanish literacy program for adults to improve their literacy skills to facilitate further education, is hosting a holiday fundraiser for its students. Come by the Community Education Building; there's a Holiday tree featuring stories from students sharing their backgrounds and academic aspirations. Pick up a greeting card from the tree, and you can learn about a student whose life you could impact through your donation.
