Robotics teams excel at CSUN Tournament, earn spot at VEXU World Championship
Cerritos College Robotics Teams recently achieved great success at the CSUN Tournament
on February 28, with the lead team, RCXD1, earning second place in the Skills Contest
and the Innovate Award, qualifying for the VEXU World Championship in St. Louis, Missouri,
set for April 25–27, 2026.
Since August 2025, the program has expanded to three teams (RCXD1, RCXD2, RCXD3), each with about 10 students, supported by the ASCC and the Technology Division.
Highlights include the development of a Precise Positioning System that contributed to a top tournament driving score of 115 for RCXD1. Other accomplishments include RCXD2 receiving the Judge Award at Mt. San Antonio College and RCXD1 winning the Society of Women Engineers Award at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
The teams are now focused on optimizing their robots ahead of the upcoming elite competition in St. Louis. This success reflects the hard work of the students and the support from the ASCC and the Technology Division.
