Laura Delgado named Employee of the Month of April 2026
The Board of Trustees honored Laura Delgado, program facilitator in the Student Equity
and Success Department, as Outstanding Classified/Confidential Employee of the Month for
April 2026.
Laura began her career at Cerritos College in 2022 and has quickly become a vital pillar of support for students in the LINC and NextUp programs. As we recognize the resilience of our current and former foster youth students, we also recognize Laura’s hands-on work helping students navigate matriculation, financial aid, basic needs, housing support, emergency resources, grants, workshops, and one-on-one mentorship.
Laura exemplifies exactly what you would hope for in someone who supports students. She is smart, hardworking, and deeply dedicated, bringing her whole heart to everything she does. She stays late on countless evenings to help students through crises and makes herself available so students know they have someone they can count on.
When Laura sees a barrier, she looks for a solution. She has secured additional resources, including a $20,000 grant to support older foster youth, and has organized specialized groups for student parents. She is not only a strong mentor to students but also a source of guidance and encouragement for her team.
