Cerritos College students shine at Western Psychological Association Conference
In April, Cerritos College made a significant impact at the Western Psychological
Association conference, where ten students showcased their original research.
Students Paolo Patag, Harel Dious, Leon Mateo, Kandice Carrera, Shyanne Ainsworth, Darlene Macasa, Ma Cassandra Villarosa, Ghaleb Samawi, Matthew Gutierrez, and Allan Medina presented on essential topics such as the ethics of artificial intelligence and the effects of parenting styles on academic performance.
This level of participation is rare for community college students and underscores their accomplishments, made possible by the mentorship of Dr. Kimberley Duff and faculty members Milton Enriquez and Wilson Chu, as well as funding from the Associated Students of Cerritos College and Dean Narges Rakin.
Paolo, Ghaleb, Matthew, and Allan received a prestigious award from the Psi Beta National Honor Society for their exceptional work. Cerritos College alumni, representing their four-year universities, showed support for current students at the conference, highlighting the strength of our academic community. This achievement reflects the dedication of Cerritos College students and the mentorship of their faculty.
