My name is Rossi Petrova, and I've been a full-time instructor at Cerritos College Cosmetology department since 2015. I am a licensed cosmetologist and actively working in the industry. I mainly teach Intro to Esthetics. I truly enjoy being in the classroom with our students, teaching and seeing them advance. It's incredibly rewarding, and also inspiring for me to keep learning to improve my own craft. My goal is to educate and encourage our students to graduate and be successful in their careers.

I am an experienced cosmetology educator and stylist, passionate about fostering creativity and precision in my students. I provide a dynamic learning environment where they develop both technical skills and professional confidence. With over a decade of industry experience, I’ve had the privilege of working with renowned brands such as Redken, where I served as a Redken Artist, as well as Tony & Guy Academy, Drybar, ERGO Styling Tools, and Union Salon South in Pasadena, CA.
My training includes advanced education at Redken 5th Avenue in New York, Bumble and Bumble in NYC, Wella, and Goldwell, giving me a well-rounded foundation that I pass on to my students. My teaching philosophy focuses on clear communication, student engagement, and motivational language to help students reach their full potential. I strive to create an inclusive, supportive classroom where every student’s strengths are recognized and teamwork is encouraged.
As an educator, I am always seeking to grow, continuously exploring new ways to enhance my teaching strategies and prepare future beauty professionals through reflection, hands-on learning, and real-world client interaction. Outside of teaching, I enjoy painting on canvas and drawing inspiration from fashion, art, nature, and family, always seeking fresh ideas to incorporate into my work.

My name is Tiana Negrete, and I’ve been a licensed cosmetologist since 1999. I began my career as an assistant in a full-service salon. In 2002, I started my own business, and seven years ago, I opened my own salon. I discovered my passion for teaching while working as an educator for Italy Hair Fashions, where I taught corrective hair coloring techniques to hairstylists at various salons. To stay current with the latest trends, techniques, products, and equipment, I’ve taken classes with Vidal Sassoon, MAC Cosmetics, Redken, Dermalogica, Davines, DermaplanePro, Beautiful Brow and Lashes, Sweet and True Sugar Co., and others. Currently, I teach full-time as an instructor at Cerritos College, sharing my knowledge with future professionals. My goal is to inspire, educate, and support students pursuing careers in the beauty industry.”

My name is Janet Ramirez-Han and I have been licensed since 2008. I discovered my passion for teaching while instructing conversational English in Japan. Also, in cosmetology school my instructors recognized my patience, encouraging me to pursue teaching within the field. Since 2012 I’ve been dedicated to sharing my knowledge in cosmetology and esthetics while still working behind the chair. I’m always committed to learning, regularly taking classes at Dermalogica, Toni and Guy, L’Oréal, MUD, HydraFacial, Bio-Therapeutics and others to stay at the forefront of industry trends. My goal is to inspire and educate others in all aspects of the beauty industry.
