FAR Bazaar Project

PRIVATE/PRACTICE:
The Practice Room, the Changing Rooms, and Display

Description: NewTown’s installation Private/Practice activates the intimate spaces adjoining the former Dance Studio-Gallery throughout the 2-day event. In The Practice Room, we've created a cozy den for anyone (professionals and aspiring) to reserve time to practice in front of an intimate audience of 1-4. Nothing rehearsed. In The Changing Rooms, twin dressing rooms will become a stage for a performance and installation by Noism. In Display, attendees themselves become the performance, both with a window into and out onto the space. Mark time with us as this performance space transforms into public and private spaces.

Location: FA55/Lockers

Participating Artists:NOISM

NOISM is performing in The Changing Rooms from 10-1pm, Saturday.

NOISM consists of members Neal Taylor, Elaine Parks, S A Griffin, and Mike Mollett. A group of artists who have worked individually and together over years not aligning with any ism, flowing together and combining disciplines of poetry/ sound art, sculpture, graphics, found art, installation & non-performance/ performance.
--Practice sessions: Suffice to say Cal Arts casts a long shadow.

The Practice Room performers list is speculative and unexpected, depending on Jeff Koons' availability. But many signed up practicers include Janne Larsen, Conrad Romo, Alvero, Kira Vollman, the owner of the red pen illegible scribble. NewTown FAR Bazaar committee: Grace Amemiya, Susan Braig, Jim Bumgardner, Lorri Deyer, Lisa Mann, Leonard Rusch, William Quezada. Survey of work from the last five years: including Pat Payne, Lineage Dance, Rima Snyder, Richard Amromin, Lenny Rusch, Karl Baumann, The Arroyo Ape, Lorri Deyer, Young Yews, Joe Berardi, and Kira Vollman.
