Summercamp's ProjectProject
Summercamp’s ProjectProject is an artist run live/work space located in the neighborhood of El Sereno that hosts exhibitions, performances, lectures, workshops, screenings, and events. In terms of exhibition spaces, we push to activate multiple parts of the property—installing works in the backyard, projecting videos in the landscape, and showcasing musical performances in the old goat pen.

BREAK ROOM: A DEMOLITION WORKSHOP
Description: Take your fifteen with us. Summercamp’s ProjectProject presents Break Room: A Demolition Workshop. We invite participants at the FAR Bazaar to destruct and construct the space that was formerly the journalism break room. Together we will break the room to create something new — before the building is demolished. All artwork made during the workshops will be displayed onsite in a recreation of Summercamp’s ProjectProject’s guestroom. Demolition equipment will be provided. See you at the water cooler.

Elonda Billera Norris received an MFA in Drawing and Installation from Claremont Graduate University in
2007 and a BFA in Ceramics from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia. Using
household items, furniture, and food, her artwork invites us to question our relationship
to convenience and consumption while reaffirming our connections to each other. Elonda

Summercamp's ProjectProject events, Elonda currently teaches at LACMA and The Armory
Center for the Arts in Pasadena.

Janice Gomez earned an MFA in Photography and Installation from Claremont Graduate University
and a BA from San Francisco State University. Gomez’s work explores accessibility
and self-awareness both in physical and mental space—sometimes manifesting in labyrinth
installations that meander through constructed pathways, ultimately revealing a niche
for reflection and collective interaction; explorations in performance with intimate
recitals for an audience of one, occasionally blurring the line between audience and
performer in addition to engaging spectators in larger numbers; and most recently,
site specific tableaus with sculptural, photographic and sound elements. Her works
have been included in exhibitions nationally and venues throughout Los Angeles (Jaus
in conjunction with Concrete Walls, University Art Museum: Long Beach, Machine Projects,
PØST and Human Resources). Gomez currently teaches at Crossroads School for Arts and
Sciences and is their curator at Sam Francis Gallery.
