NORWALK, Calif. – March 3, 2025 – Cerritos College student Peijuan Huang has been selected for the 2025 Brooke Owens
Fellowship, a nationally acclaimed nonprofit program that recognizes exceptional undergraduate
women and gender minorities, providing them with mentorship, career development, and
industry networking opportunities. She is among 44 fellows, known as “Brookies,” chosen
this year from an international pool of over 400 applicants from colleges and universities.
Inspired by her lifelong fascination with space exploration, Peijuan is majoring in aerospace engineering to pursue a career in space exploration and aerospace technology development, and she completed an internship at Caltech last summer. She plans to transfer to California State University, Long Beach, in fall 2025 to complete her bachelor’s degree. Peijuan is considering pursuing an advanced degree to develop technologies that make space missions more efficient and sustainable.
Through the fellowship, Peijuan will join a network of more than 350 Brookie alumni, representing various fields within space and aviation. She will also participate in a summer research internship and be paired with an executive-level mentor in the aerospace industry. Additionally, the fellowship will host the Brooke Owens Summit in mid-July, providing fellows the opportunity to connect with industry leaders.
“This fellowship is a highly competitive program that selects women and gender minorities passionate about aerospace,” said Peijuan. “I’m excited to officially become part of the Class of 2025!”
