Words of wisdom: Life is full of trials and tribulations. Know that you may or may not fail at a few things and that's okay. What matters is that you gather the fallen pieces and put them back together with strength, determination, creativity and passion. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I know that it took me a while to move forward from Cerritos College. All of the trial and error I endured through this institution, made me realize that I could get through anything. Even when it breaks me down. Understand that coming here is a way for you to evolve and not only in your academic progress but within yourself. Don't let it bother you when people ask about how you are still there. You answer to no one but yourself and your personal goals. What you should recognize or ask yourself is,"How did my journey bring me here to the beginning, middle and the end?" I guarantee that you will not leave here as you came. You will wiser, more determined and will have captured a glimpse of who you are to become in the near future of your educational career. Find pride in the steps that you will take here. Every encounter may not be amazing. But you will learn from it and be prepared for what will be. If you keep rising, even when your wings falter. It is up to you to not let your weakness keep you from flying into a future of limitless opportunity and possibility. Don't try to always be perfect but don't let life overwhelm you desire to succeed. Lastly, don't let anyone or anything keep you from the future that you dream of because you are writer, author and publisher of your own life story. So, GO! Create your own ending in a world neverending predictions of your story.
Special thanks: I want to thank my truly supportive parents as well as my Lord and Savior for every sacrifice that has ever made for me to succeed. Words of wisdom: Don't give up on your dreams just because they don't follow your plans or timeline. Sometimes your plans get extended or changed, but it's life; live in that moment knowing that something better is coming because once it's gone you won't be able to rewind time. Whether it's a +/- moment live it to the fullest because those obstacles will mold you to be a deeper human being. Hang in there, you're almost there.

Words of wisdom: Meet with a counselor regularly to make sure you are on the right path, and taking the right classes. They know a lot about school programs and ways to pay for college. When I first entered college I did not think I was going to be able to transfer to a 4 yr University because of money issues, but thanks to the multiple counselors I talked to I found out that there are various programs available for students like me, and they helped me get the right classes, so I was able to transfer in exactly two years.

It might be a struggle stretching every dollar every minute you have but worth the slide down once you climb to the top. The only excuse is yourself for not being where you want to be. It possible I did it! Take count of what your doing and the time needed to get it done and go home, breathe in and out, double the effort and get it done. Words of wisdom: As a student with a disability, I've encountered many obstacles that were both emotionally and academically. However, I have never gave up on my ambitions and hopes on transferring to a 4-year institution. I've always found ways to get back up to strive for success and be the best individual I can possibly be with courage and perseverance. To current Cerritos College students and future Transfer Hall of Famers, never lose hope on your ambitions, even if you are placed on academic probation. Life can be simply difficult, but it can be rewarding as well. To current Cerritos College DSPS students, never limit yourself because of a disability. The only individual that can truly stop you from reaching success is yourself. Take advantage of every accommodation/service you are eligible at DSPS as well as campus resources. If I can move beyond my disability and transfer successfully to a university, so can you. In closing, there is a motto that I always live by, "Passion leads results without limits." Always have passion to what you are studying or your career because that passion will lead you to your potential. Thank you, thank you very much.
Special thanks: I would like to thank two amazing individuals who made an impact on my journey. First, I would like to thank Judi Holmes from DSPS. Ever since I arrived at Cerritos College, she promised me that she would take care of me. She kept her promise. She has been very supportive both academically and personally. Our relationship has always been special and i am truly blessed to have her not only as my specialist, but as a mentor as well. She is like my second mother to me and have nothing but great respect for her. Judi is the best of the best at DSPS. Lastly, I would like to thank Dr. Amy Holzgang. She was also very supportive and truly respect her. I am blessed to haver her as a mentor. Because of these two great women, I've accomplished my educational goals at Cerritos College and now in the Transfer Hall of Fame. Love you both from the bottom of my heart.

Words of wisdom: When I started my journey to higher education I was older than most college freshman. I worked full time, attended school in the evenings while raising two children. When it felt like I couldn't do "it" anymore, I recalled the words of my freshmen English professor, "one class a semester is better than no class a semester. Everyday that you are in class puts you one step closer to your goal." So everyday I put one foot in front of the other and continued my journey with evening classes, online classes and summer classes to arrive at this day. The day I will transfer to CSUDH!!
