Anthony is well known for his handcrafted furniture and cabinetry inspired by the Arts and Crafts movement. He operates A. Fortner Woodshop and has worked on many Greene and Greene homes throughout Pasadena including a commissioned furniture piece for the Gamble House. His furniture can also be found at the Old Mission of San Gabriel as well as other churches in the area.

Anthony is a graduate of Pasadena City College and California State University, Long Beach. He began his teaching career as a part-time woodworking instructor at Cerritos College and in 1999 Anthony was hired as a full-time instructor in the department.

Anthony willingly shares his expertise and woodworking passion with his students, many of whom have won numerous awards at local, state and national levels in shows and gallery competitions. Anthony lives in South Pasadena with his family in a 1911 California bungalow that he has restored with the help family and friends.
