Glow Night illuminates science at CDC
The Child Development Center (CDC) hosted a Glow Night in collaboration with the science,
engineering, and mathematics (SEM) division on January 31. With the assistance of
two parents who are faculty members in the SEM division, the CDC partnered with the
physics and astronomy, earth science and geography, and chemistry departments to create
a memorable event that brought science to life for the children.
During the event, participants explored luminescent rocks and minerals, learned about light refraction, and enjoyed a fire show featuring chemical reactions. There was also a lemonade stand, glow painting activities, telescope observations of the sky and planets, and music.
