Women's History Month celebration kicks off
The 2025 Women’s History Month celebration launched on March 4 with an inspiring live performance featuring Las Colibri, an all-female mariachi band, and Folklorico Revolucion, talented Mexican ballet dancers, celebrating the strength and artistry of women. Engineering Technology Club shines as finalist in Cal Poly SLO tournament
The Engineering Technology Club students participated in the Gear Slingers Open 2025 Vex University robotics tournament at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo on March 1. Team Two reached the final round, competing against CPSLO and losing by just one point. “The students showed significant improvement since the Mt. SAC match,” said David Li, engineering design technology instructor and club advisor. The team plans to continue refining their design to compete nationally. The club's activities are supported by ASCC and the technology division. Go Falcons!
Former Falcon wrestler Aine Drury shares her experiences at Cerritos College with USA Wrestling
Aine Drury, a former wrestler for the Falcons, is currently attending King University, one of the most successful women's college wrestling programs in the nation. She shared her journey of choosing Cerritos College after graduating from Westminster High School. Drury credits the Falcon wrestling program and Coach Dustin Kirk for helping her achieve success in her wrestling career. Read the USA Wrestling article.

Community Resource Fair on March 25
The Re-Entry Program will host the 16th annual Community Resource Fair on Tuesday, March 25, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. in Student Center. The fair connects students and community members with essential resources, including child care, health care, legal aid, emergency shelters, social services, treatment programs, credit counseling, volunteer opportunities, and many more. Free income tax assistance event on March 29
The Cerritos College Accounting Department and Accounting Club will offer free income tax assistance on March 29. Sponsored by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program provides free tax help to people with an income of $70,000 or less who need assistance preparing their tax returns... Journey to Leadership: Inspiring Success in Education, Profession, and Community
The Cerritos Chapter of the Association of Latino Students for America (ALPFA) will present Okorie Ramsey, Vice President of Sarbanes-Oxley, and former Chair of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), to speak about Mr. Ramsey will share his journey to higher education, how he dealt with adversity, and lessons learned throughout his journey to leadership roles in his company, profession and the community.
