Hello! My name is Andrea Turner. I have been teaching at Cerritos College Child Development Center since 2014. I received my B.S. in Child Development from California State University, Dominguez Hills, have an A.A. in Business Management, and hold a Site Supervisor Permit from the State of California. With this being my second career, I have 10 years of experience in the field of Early Childhood Education. When my daughter was a toddler, I became fascinated with her amazing brain development from ages 0-3 years old. She inspired me to make a career change from training adults to teaching young children.
I feel greatly connected to constructivism and the Reggio Emilia approach to teaching. This approach allows me the opportunity to facilitate and collaborate with children in constructing their knowledge and learning through experiences and which includes all aspects of their lives…home, school, community, and the nature environment.
