Graciela Serrano de Lorenzo

Teacher, Part-Time

Hello, My name is Maria Graciela Serrano De Lorenzo, but I prefer to go by Graciela. I was born and raised in Argentina and immigrated to USA as an adult looking for new opportunities. I started my journey at Cerritos College as a practicum student. Since 2016 I had the pleasure to be part of the staff as a substitute teacher. In 2018, I became an official part-time teacher. Concurrently, I had the opportunity to work at Duarte Unified School District , and more recently, at Los Alamitos School District child development centers. I hold an Associate Degree in Child Development and I hold a Master teacher permit from the State of California. I am currently planning to pursue my BS in Child Development and a minor in Spanish. Together with my husband, we are proud parents of a teenage girl and twin boys. We are always busy with their activities and obligations. We love to travel, especially to visit family in Italy and Argentina. Personally, I enjoy photography, riding my bike, and nature.

Working under the Reggio Emilia approach is has been an enriching experience. The best part of my job is the opportunity to see the enlightenment on children’s faces when they discover a new skill or engage in the process of meaningful learning experiences.
