Machine Tool Technology Receives $20K Grant for Student Scholarships from Gene Haas Foundation

Gene Haas FoundationCerritos College recently received a $20,000 donation from the Gene Haas Foundation to support students enrolled in its Machine Tool Technology program.

The Gene Haas Foundation has been a strong supporter of the program, donating $20,000 in 2018 and $25,000 in 2016 to support Machine Tool Technology students. The funds will support scholarships for Machine Tool Technology students. The Machine Tool Technology Department at Cerritos College is one of a few premier programs in Southern California that offers machine tool training using real-world materials and projects.

“We are grateful for the Gene Haas Foundation’s continued support,” said Chuong Vo, department chair, Machine Tool Technology. “This  grant will help students in our program pursue their educational goals.”

The Gene Haas Foundation was created in 1999 by Gene Haas, founder and president of Haas Automation, Inc., the largest machine tool manufacturer in the United States. All Haas products are manufactured at the company’s facility in Southern California, and distributed through a worldwide network of more than 170 Haas Factory Outlets.
