Meet Cecilia Amaro: Mental Health Worker Student Sees Success

Cecilia AmaroThe Cerritos College Mental Health Worker Program is the first of its kind in the state of California. The program trains students to help a mentally ill individual with tasks such as gaining employment, finding housing, using community resources, becoming financially competent, and other activities that promote an independent lifestyle for the mentally ill in three semesters. Many of the students in the program have been successfully obtaining a job upon completion of the program and internship.

Through this internship, I have been given the opportunity to join the team as an Intensive Case Manager. Thanks to the Mental Health Worker Program and great Professors, I feel prepared for my new role."
