Campus Community Honors Veterans with Veterans Week Festivities
The Veteran’s Resource Center (VRC) held a week-long celebration honoring military service men and women on November 7-10. The military fair on Monday showcased several branches of the U.S. military. On Wednesday, the campus community learned about the services offered by VRC with lunch and giveaways. At the flag-raising ceremony on Thursday, History Professor Walter Fernandez spoke on the history of Veterans Day. The celebration concluded with the Marine Corps' 247th birthday celebration and cake-cutting ceremony, featuring the birthday cake created by the Culinary Arts program.
Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Month Presents Social Workers Panel
The Falcon's Nest presented a panel presentation featuring its social work interns on November 9. Six panelists spoke about how they chose a career in social work and what it is like to be in the field. The Falcon’s Nest is hosting various events throughout November to spread awareness and provide resources to students facing basic need insecurities, including an open house (Nov. 14) and Basic Needs Resources Fair (Nov. 15 & 16), a hygiene drive, and an art installation throughout the month. Don't Miss Fall Dance Concerts November 17-19 in PAC
Come and join the first in-person dance show in more than two years! Choreographed by faculty and students, the concert will feature classical and contemporary dance works performed by students. Campus Police Veterans Appreciation Patch Now Available!

College to Host a Virtual Community Forum on Updates to Lot at 166th Street/Studebaker Road on December 5
Cerritos College will host its annual virtual forum to update residents about changes to its property located at the 166th Street and Studebaker Road corner lot. The Cerritos City Council approved the College's Temporary Use Permit (TUP) for four years in 2017. The TUP was renewed for a five-year period beginning December 19, 2021, through December 19, 2026... Link to the full story about the Forum
