for November 2023.
Nio came to Cerritos College in 2021 as students returned to the campus post-pandemic. It was a challenging time to come to campus as a new employee all on its own, but Nio joined the college while students were navigating many post-pandemic obstacles as well. Despite these challenges, Nio took little time to embrace Cerritos College and our students, becoming an exemplary Falcon leader. Nio has fostered a welcoming and safe environment in the Equity Center, supporting many campus student equity initiatives. He has expanded the visibility of the support programs for all marginalized student identities, encouraged students' sense of belonging, and empowered students to be advocates for themselves and their peers. Nio is an excellent communicator and consistently provides notices to the campus about upcoming campus and community activities. Nio can be seen at most (if not all) campus activities, where he is always sharing smiles, making new connections, and elevating the positive energy of the event. Nio is genuinely an exceptional Cerritos College employee.
