Retiree Hoai-Phuong (Phu) Nguyen Recognized
The Cerritos College Board of Trustees recognized retiree Hoai-Phuong (Phu) Nguyen,
Accounting Technician IV, for her years of service to the College on June 12.
Phu began her career as an accounting technician II on November 27, 2000, and then was promoted to accounting technician IV in Feb 2006, taking care of ASCC financials, A-Z checks, deposits, journal entries, financial statements, bank reconciliations, AP Lead, and ensured successful audits over the years. She received Outstanding Classified Employee of the Month in December 2012 and then honored as Outstanding Classified Employee of the Year 2012-2013. She participated in and completed training in 2007 for the Cerritos CARES program. But beyond all her professional accomplishments, she will be remembered for her positivity and kindness in our workplace. She is a shining example of what exceptional customer service actually looks like.
"As Phu starts this new chapter in her life, we want to express our deepest gratitude for her years of service and dedication," said Kathy Burgos, accounting manager. "She leaves an enduring legacy in our department and her presence will be sorely missed. But we take comfort in knowing that she leaves behind a team that is better, stronger and more inspired because of her leadership and guidance."
