Men's soccer team named national champions
The Cerritos College men’s soccer team has made history once again by being crowned
the United Soccer Coaches National Champions for only the second time ever. The Falcons
clinched the prestigious title with a thrilling victory over Hartnell College in the
3C2A State Championship game in December, finishing the season with an impressive
17-6-3 record.
In a remarkable highlight, sophomore Gustavo Arias was named National Player of the Year, showcasing his exceptional talent on the field. Additionally, Head Coach Benny Artiaga and his incredible coaching staff, including Chris Lekavich, George Artiaga, Alex Diaz, Tony Leone, Jeffrey Payeras, and Arna Kilikarslan, earned the United Soccer Coaches Staff of the Year award for Division III (non-scholarship) community colleges nationwide. What a phenomenal season for the Falcons!
