Commencement celebrates the class of 2026
The campus proudly celebrated the class of 2026 at the 68th annual Commencement ceremony on May 22. With over 10,000 guests and 1,250 graduates in attendance, this momentous evening marked the largest gathering in the college's graduation history. Brendan Franklin charts a stellar course for his future in astrophysics and academia

Outgoing Student Trustee Gustavo Sanchez recognized
The Board of Trustees honored the outgoing Student Trustee Gustavo Sanchez for his outstanding service at the May 20 board meeting. Dr. Fierro highlighted Gustavo's evolution in confidence and leadership skills through involvement in various initiatives at the campus, community, state, and federal levels. Gustavo is praised for his professionalism and integrity, and for balancing his roles. He's transferring to UC Berkeley, to pursue a degree in political science. Gustavo, thank you for your service and best wishes in your future endeavors!

Laura Delgado named Employee of the Month of April 2026
The Board of Trustees honored Laura Delgado, program facilitator in the Student Equity and Success Department, as Outstanding Classified/Confidential Employee of the Month for April 2026. Laura began her career at Cerritos College in 2022 and has quickly become a vital pillar of support for students in the LINC and NextUp programs.
