    For Option A students

Please note: New Application/Admission Process effective January 2019. The Cerritos College Nursing Program accepts applications once a year, from January 1 - March 15th, for the following academic year. Applications for the 2019 - 2020 academic year will be accepted beginning in January 2019. The nursing program will be utilizing a Blended Admission Process using a combination of: 1) Multicriteria Screening Criterion and 2) Random Selection (Lottery) beginning with the January 2019 application period. All applicants will be given points according the Multicriteria Screening Tool (to be uploaded to the website in August). The program will configure the points for all applicants and the first 50% of admission seats for the 2019-2020 academic year will be filled with the top point applicants. The remaining applicants will be placed into a random selection process (lottery) and the next 50% of admission seats will be filled with the top students in the random selection.

The MultiCriteria Selection Process will take the following into consideration:

  1. Grade Point Average
  2. Previous Academic Degree
  3. Recency of Prerequisites
  4. TEAS Scores
  5. Relevant Healthcare Experience
  6. Volunteer Hours
  7. Life Experiences
  8. Veteran Status
  9. Second Languages

Updates will be made to the: 1) Information Packet, 2) Application Process, 3) Application Form reflecting these changes and all new application materials will be uploaded to the nursing website in August and will also be made available in counseling and the nursing department office.
