HSS Building

The Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) Division stands as a beacon of intellectual diversity, housing a rich constellation of twelve academic departments. This vibrant hub of learning offers an assortment of educational pathways, from Associate of Arts degrees to specialized certificates, a plethora of transfer opportunities, and career-focused vocational programs.

Throughout the academic year, our Division delivers a rich tapestry of knowledge, offering a diverse array of over 1,560 course sections across fall, spring, and summer terms. Our faculty guides the academic journey of more than 7,500 students annually.

The Division is led by Dr. Rakin, the Dean of Humanities and Social Sciences. The Division's operation is further ensured by two exemplary clerical staff members, the fresh perspectives of three interns, and the seasoned and dedicated leadership of 13 faculty chairpersons. This bastion of learning resides in the Social Science Building's lower level, where scholarly pursuits thrive.
