WHAT: A Chinese language and culture course is coming to Cerritos College this fall. Taught by renowned professors from the University of Taipei, the online course is open to adults and youth in grades 3-12 at $109. Participants can virtually attend the University of Taipei, learn the traditional Chinese language, and explore Taiwanese culture through 10 sessions from October 4 to December 6. No experience or level of Chinese language fluency is needed to take the classes.

The online course was made possible through a partnership with the Cerritos College Trustee Dr. Shin Liu, the Taipei City Government, the University of Taipei, and the Cerritos College Adult Education and Community Education departments.

“I’m excited to bring this cultural program to our students and the community,” said Dr. Liu, who has championed global education on the board for years. “This program will help add a global perspective to participants’ lives and educational journeys.”

Cerritos College also offered the Taiwan Experience Education Program, a study abroad and teaching internship program, in 2018-19, thanks to the partnership with Trustee Liu, Taipei City, and the University of Taipei.
