E-waste collection event coming to Cerritos College on September 24

WHAT: The Cerritos College Environmental Club is co-hosting an e-waste collection event on Saturday, September 24 with a student-run nonprofit organization Teens Against E-Waste.

Community members are welcome to drop off electronic waste for free. Items accepted include computer monitors, laptops, televisions, printers, speakers, microwaves, DVD players, etc. Used batteries are also accepted, but because they are hazardous, please package them separately. Email teens.against.ewaste@gmail.com for items accepted. View the event flyer.

The Club is also hosting a battery collection event on campus through September 23. View the collection bin locations at http://tinyurl.com/1MB-locations. All batteries collected through the event will be counted towards the One Million Batteries (1MB) campaign that is aimed at collecting and recycling one million used batteries.
