Cerritos College Ranks Fifth Among Nation's Top 50 Community Colleges for Hispanics

NORWALK, Calif. – April 17, 2023 –  Cerritos College is ranked fifth among the top 50 community colleges with the highest Hispanic enrollment in the United States, according to the Hispanic Outlook on Education magazine. Cerritos College is also ranked 17th with the number of associate degrees earned by Hispanic students.

The magazine created the rankings based on the National Center for Education Statistics/Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System Department of Education database. Cerritos College is also ranked 28th with the number of associate degrees earned by Hispanic students.

A Hispanic-Serving Institution, Cerritos College boasts nearly a 70-percent Latino student population. In 2022, Cerritos College was ranked seventh among the top 100 schools in the nation with the highest Hispanic enrollment. The College was also ranked second in the state for Latino transfers to the California State University system in 2015. 

The College is recognized as one of the leading institutions for Hispanics in the United States in the Top 50 Community Colleges for Hispanics issue of the Hispanic Outlook on Education magazine published on April 10.
