Asian Pacific Islander Desi American (APIDA) Awareness Week celebrates cultures and heritage

The campus celebrated Asian Pacific Islander Desi American Awareness Week from April 28 to May 1. The week-long festivities featured a night market with food and games, a film screening, presentations, discussions, and Tai-Chi activities. On April 30, the Lotus Laureate Celebration honored the APIDA class of 2025. On May 1, a luncheon sponsored by Human Resources explored the theme "Resilience, in Action: Stories of  Perseverance and Grit" with guest speaker Dr. Larry Natividad and featuring Uyghur dance by the Oriental Dance Group.

Woodworking Department empowers future craftsmen with workshop for high school teachers and students

The Cerritos College Woodworking Department and its student club CSAW hosted a workshop for High School Woodshop Teachers and some of their top students on Friday, April 25. The event was supported and sponsored by the Association of Woodworking and Finishing Suppliers (AWFS) and Shaper Tools.
