Dr. Michael Page named 2025 Outstanding Academic Manager of the Year
The Association for Cerritos College Management Employees (ACCME) has named Instructional
Dean of Science, Engineering, and Mathematics Dr. Michael Page as the recipient of
the 2025 Outstanding Academic Manager Award.
Michael has been part of the Cerritos College family since July 2023 and has made a positive impact on our campus in that short time. He has been an exceptional leader for the SEM division, bringing everyone together to foster a genuine sense of community. Folks from the division share that Michael has helped turn the division into a place where people connect, support each other, and share ideas. Division meetings are thoughtful and engaging, showcasing the great things happening across departments and the impactful SEM Flex Day. Under Michael's leadership, the division has truly flourished.
Faculty member Dara Worrel shared that “what stands out most about Michael is his deep, authentic commitment to students. On more than one occasion, I’ve seen him pause during a walk across campus to chat with students, always taking the time to listen, encourage, and engage. His care for their well-being and success is evident, and students feel it immediately. Michael is not just a leader—he is an educator at heart, consistently striving to make sure every student feels seen, valued, and supported."
Nominations also noted that Michael does a fantastic job at communicating changes within the SEM division and creating new programs that fit with any updated curriculum. His efforts keep everyone—students and faculty—on the same page and ready to tackle new challenges.
As a leader, it was noted that Michael approaches challenging issues with a positive attitude, motivating his team and providing them with the necessary tools to succeed. His enthusiasm and deep knowledge of STEM come through in everything he does, and it's infectious.
