Amna Jara Named Employee of the Month of February 2020

The Outstanding Classified/Confidential Employee Selection Committee named Amna Jara as the recipient of the Outstanding Classified/Confidential Employee of the Month Award for February 2020.

AJ began her career at Cerritos College in 2004 as a Program Assistant in the Technology Department; in 2010, she was promoted to Student Activities Coordinator for the Student Activities Department.

Cerritos College students nominated AJ for this award. The nominations were extensive and listed all AJ does for the students and the campus. One student’s nomination says, "Amna Jara is loved and respected throughout the campus. From club and student leaders, to staff and faculty who seek her guidance and audience daily, to past and present members of Cerritos College." She is loved and respected not because of her position, she is loved and respected because of her actions, her genuine desire to help, the unwavering approachability, the respect she gives, the knowledge she possesses, the time she commits, the dedication and reliability her track record shows and the overall love for what she does. If this award is an indication of what it means to be a model employee of Cerritos College, Amna Jara embodies all of it.

The administration, staff, and students appreciate your personal attributes and outstanding efforts. We are proud that you are a Cerritos College employee and we commend you for your outstanding service and dedication," said Board President Carmen Avalos, as she presented the award to AJ.
