College and CCFF Reach Agreement on Compensation

The Cerritos Community College District and the Cerritos College Faculty Federation (CCFF) reached a successor agreement to the previous comprehensive three-year contract agreed in 2019. CCFF has completed its process to ratify the successor agreement and the Board of Trustees also ratified the agreement at its August 17, 2022 meeting.

As a result of the salary increase settlement between the District and CCFF, the District proposed the same salary increases for management, confidential, and Child Development Center employees.

The Board of Trustees approved the salary increases for CCFF as part of their settlement agreement with the District, in addition to the salary increases for management, confidential, and Child Development Center employees as follows:

  • 2021-2022: 6.07%
  • 2022-2023: 6.81%
  • 2023-2024: COLA + 0.50%

In addition to the above-noted increases, instructional part-time faculty will receive a 0.60 parity factor. The increased parity factor allows the District to remain competitive in comparison to local districts' instructional part-time faculty compensation.

The parties’ agreement on compensation ensures faculty receive competitive pay and health benefits. The agreement contains numerous other substantive revisions that will improve working conditions and ensure continued student success through the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic and beyond. The agreement encompasses various aspects of faculty compensation, particularly for part-time faculty who require more significant adjustments. The District values the faculty and their efforts to help students receive the best education possible.

Retroactive payments will be made to eligible employees within 60 working days of the August 17, 2022 board meeting.

“The agreement reflects our belief that retaining and attracting highly qualified employees is vital to the College’s success,” said President/ Superintendent Dr. Jose Fierro. “We are grateful to the participants of both negotiation teams for their focused efforts to bring this settlement together.”
