Film Students Volunteer in the Community and Gain Real-World Experience

Accompanied by their professor Steven Hirohama, the students filmed and photographed the event. Professor Hirohama has worked with the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians for four years to have his students film the annual Kewet Day event. In October, another student Isabella Garcia worked on the Cerritos Chamber of Commerce’s Taste of the Region event assisting the videographer.

"These real-world jobs are made possible by the ASCC," said Hirohama. "Students are paid small stipends for doing these projects for clients. The real benefit is the job experience."

“It has been a pleasure working with these students, and we look forward to continuing this partnership with the Film Production Program at Cerritos College in the future,” said Kate Anderson, director of public relations at Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians.
