Film Students Volunteer in the Community and Gain Real-World Experience 

The Cerritos College Film Production Program students Jose Escobar and Roberto Hoyos volunteered at the Agua Caliente Kewet Day event on November 5. Accompanied by their professor Steven Hirohama, the students filmed and photographed the event. Professor Hirohama has worked with the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians for four years to have his students film the annual Kewet Day event... Link to the full story about the film students

College Celebrates Día de Muertos

Puente and ASCC hosted the Día de Muertos celebration on November 1. Altars by various offices were displayed with this year's theme of "Remember Me: Honoring our Ancestors and History". Free face painting was offered by the Theatre Department students. Students unleashed their creativity making their own Calaca and enjoyed live dance performances.

Nov. 8: Flag Raising Ceremony 8:30 a.m. at flag pole and CalVet/VSO Visit in VRC
Nov. 9: Veterans Resource Center Open House 11 a.m.
Nov. 10: Long Beach VA Hospital Info 11 a.m. and Celebrate the Marine Corps. Birthday with Cake 12 p.m. both in VRC

Your Vote is Your Voice; Cerritos College is an Official Vote Center

Register to vote and/or cast your ballot at the voter center located on the Student Center Stage. Hours: November 5, 6, 7 – 10 a.m.-7 p.m., November 8 – 7 a.m.-8 p.m.
Celebrate Election Day (Nov. 8) by visiting the Bagels & Ballots event located on the Student Center Patio from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Free bagels and find information about what is on the ballot.  View the flyer.
A Vote-By-Mail Drop Box is located on campus in the Alondra Drop-Off area between lots 3 and 4.

National Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Month November

November is Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Month

The Falcon’s Nest is hosting various events throughout November to spread awareness and provide resources to students facing basic need insecurities. On Wednesday, Nov. 9, join our social work interns in an info session and Q&A about the field of social work. Refreshments will be provided. 2-3 p.m. in LC 155. In addition, the Falcon's Nest is hosting a hygiene drive, an art installation, and more events throughout the month. View the flyer for more Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Month activities.
