President's Accreditation Message

Dr. Jose Fierro
President Cerritos College
Cerritos College is preparing its 2026 Institutional Self-Evaluation Report (ISER), a requirement of the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC) to reaffirm our accreditation. This important process demonstrates how our institution transformed over the past seven years, with a focus on accelerating student success.
Over the summer, our writing teams compiled data, gathered evidence, and produced a draft of the ISER. Just as these teams reflected the diversity of our faculty, classified professionals, confidential employees, managers, and administrators, it is now time for the entire campus community to provide input. This report represents the collective work we do, and your feedback will ensure our accomplishments are clearly reflected.
The ISER process gives us the opportunity to evaluate our progress, highlight the remarkable transformation of our campus, and reaffirm our commitment to continuous improvement. Your perspective is vital, and I encourage you to review the ISER draft and share your feedback with the accreditation team.
In addition, the ACCJC welcomes third-party comments related to an institution’s compliance with Eligibility Requirements, Accreditation Standards, and Commission policies. These must be submitted no later than five weeks prior to the Commission’s review. To submit a comment, please visit the ACCJC website.
I extend my sincere gratitude to the Accreditation Committee, faculty, staff, and students for their dedication to this important work. Together, we ensure that Cerritos College continues to embody excellence, equity, and student success in all that we do.
