Retiree Terrie Lopez Recognized
Terrie has more than 30 years of experience in the higher education field. She started
her career at the four-year level, working in both a public and private institution,
and devoted the rest of her career to the community college sector, more specifically
to Cerritos College.
During her tenure at Cerritos College, Terrie was over the career services and assessment areas. While Terrie came from a four-year institution, she was able to dive in to gain an understanding of the community college system as well as the assessment process which was all new to her, showing her dedication and adaptability; traits that would help her throughout her years at Cerritos. Terrie’s ability to cross-collaborate has also been one of her greatest assets. She has been able to forge strong relationships within her team, across divisions and areas. Additionally, with the LA Regional Consortium, Terrie has been able to build relationships with constituents outside of Cerritos College bringing resources to Cerritos students connected to internships and job opportunities.
Terrie is known as a dedicated, kind, responsible and good-humored leader. She has been able to create an environment where her team feels respected, valued and a place where ideas can flourish. While she will be missed, her team and I are happy she is going to enjoy her retirement baking, enjoying her backyard and a nice glass of wine! Congratulations on another great milestone Terrie and we wish you nothing but the best in the coming years.
