Yvette Tafoya named Manager of the Year
The Association for Cerritos College Management Employees (ACCME) has named Yvette
Tafoya, Dean, Enrollment Services, Admissions & Records, Financial Aid and School
Relations, as the recipient of the 2026 Erin Miles Memorial Classified Manager of
the Year Award.
Yvette is an exceptional leader whose strategic vision and student-centered approach have significantly strengthened Cerritos College. She oversees Admissions & Records, Financial Aid, and School Relations, fostering strong cross-departmental collaboration that enhances the overall student experience.
Under her leadership, Enrollment Services has implemented effective systems and processes that improve recruitment, retention, achievement, and completion. She proactively identifies service gaps and partners with campus partners to ensure accurate, accessible, and supportive services that reduce barriers for students.
Her impact is evident in the dramatic expansion of outreach efforts, which grew from 13,852 individuals served in 2022–2023 to 69,845 in 2024–2025, with growth continuing. She launched the High School Outreach Project, extending engagement to 17 out-of-district high schools, and created Welcome Tours to help incoming students feel prepared and connected.
Yvette also strengthens academic partnerships by collaborating with faculty to streamline processes and address student needs, while promoting responsiveness, inclusivity, and continuous improvement across Student Services. She maintains an open, collaborative leadership style that values staff input and fosters professional growth through training and development.
In addition, she ensures strong operational oversight, compliance, and communication across Enrollment Services, leveraging her institutional knowledge to anticipate challenges and implement effective solutions. Her leadership has also expanded community engagement through the Welcome Center and outreach events, enhancing the college’s visibility and accessibility.
Through measurable growth in outreach, improved operations, stronger partnerships, and a deep commitment to students and staff, Yvette Tafoya has transformed Enrollment Services into a highly collaborative, efficient, and student-focused division. She is an outstanding leader whose integrity, vision, and dedication make her highly deserving of Manager of the Year recognition.
