Cerritos College names Dr. Frank Mixson as vice president of academic affairs

NORWALK, Calif. – August 23, 2023 – Cerritos College named Dr. Frank Mixson as vice president/assistant superintendent
of academic affairs. The Cerritos College Board of Trustees approved his contract
at its regular meeting on June 21. Dr. Mixson assumed his role on July 1, overseeing
the academic affairs office and instructional programs at Cerritos College.
Dr. Mixson has been employed by the District since 1995, serving in various capacities, including English professor, student learning outcomes coordinator, faculty accreditation liaison, basic skills coordinator, Guided Pathways faculty co-coordinator, and most recently, as the dean of liberal arts since 2018. Dr. Mixson holds a Ph.D. from the University of Georgia and a master's degree from California State University, Long Beach.

I am thrilled to welcome him to this vital role,” said Cerritos College President/Superintendent Dr. Jose Fierro. “His wealth of experience and commitment to the college community is instrumental as we continue to provide quality education to our students.”
