The Associate in Arts in Social Justice Studies: Africana Studies for Transfer (AA-T) degree is an interdisciplinary program that aims to prepare students for transfer to a CSU. Designed to provide students with an introduction to the theoretical principles of social justice, this program offers a critical study of social inequalities in and outside of the United States. Additionally, this program offers an examination of social movements and their transformative impact on the world. This program pays particular attention to the study of the life history, culture, and social justice traditions of Black people.

Intended Goals/Outcomes:

The Associate in Arts in Social Justice Studies: Africana Studies for Transfer (AA-T) degree is designed to prepare students for seamless transfer to a CSU and toward a major in Africana Studies or those majors pertinent to race, ethnicity, and/or social justice. This program is open to all students and may be of particular interest to those who wish to pursue advocacy work for underrepresented groups and become change agents in the hard yet necessary work of re-imagining a more equitable society.
