Apprenticeship Programs
The Cerritos College Continuing Education Division offers a variety of apprenticeship programs for students looking to start a career within the construction trades. Currently the Continuing Education Division offers apprenticeship programs in Field Ironwork (Structural & Reinforcing), Painters, and coming soon Metro Rail Operations and Electrical. Apprenticeship programs combine paid-on-the job training with classroom instruction to prepare workers for highly-skilled careers. These programs typically range between 3 to 5 years in length depending on the type of trade an apprentice goes into. Individuals interested in joining an apprenticeship program must be at least 17 and half years old in order to join.
In addition to apprenticeship the Cerritos College Continuing Education Division also offers the Electrician Trainee Program for Whole Residential Electrician and Non-Residential Lighting Technician.
